2001 Regular Session

House Bill 5917

AN ACT CONCERNING THE COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORTATION OBTAINING POSSESSION OF LAND ACQUIRED FOR HIGHWAY PURPOSES.

Did not become law. It stopped in the House of Representatives's Transportation Committee on April 2, 2001. The 2001 session has ended.

What it does

The synopsis the General Assembly published with the bill.

To allow the commissioner to use the execution power usually used in condemnation by eminent domain, to be used in instances where land for highway purposes is by friendly conveyance, since the summary process eviction procedure is more time consuming.
