What it does

The synopsis the General Assembly published with the bill.

To reduce the quantity of filings and registrations with the State Ethics Commission by providing that: (1) Statements of financial interests for public officials shall be filed for sources of income in excess of two thousand dollars, rather than one thousand dollars as currently required; (2) such statements include the name of securities held in excess of ten thousand dollars, rather than five thousand dollars as currently required; (3) lobbyists register with the commission if their compensation and reimbursement exceeds five thousand dollars, or if they make or incur an obligation to make expenditures for five thousand dollars or more, rather than two thousand dollars as is currently required; and (4) no monthly report shall be required for a client lobbyist registrant in any month where the lobbyist neither expends nor agrees to expend five hundred dollars or more, rather than one hundred dollars or more as is currently required.
