2005 Regular Session

Senate Bill 357

AN ACT CONCERNING ENTERPRISE ZONE INVESTMENTS AND TAX CREDITS.

Did not become law. It stopped in the Senate's Commerce Committee on February 18, 2005. The 2005 session has ended.

What it does

The synopsis the General Assembly published with the bill.

To (1) provide significant subsidy to projects in urban areas for smaller projects than are currently allowed, because the difficulty in assembling land for very large projects in urban areas makes the existing program hard to utilize, and (2) remove impractical limitations on the assignment of the tax credits, which will dramatically expand the universe of potential buyers for the tax credits, increasing competition for the credits and ensuring the greatest possible return for project investors via the assignment of the credits.
